Hey Y’all- Haha…I am not southern, but if there is any southern term I would love to be able to get away with using it is “y’all”. It is just so welcoming, fun and casual—all things I love!
background on me:

I am a wife and mother of three. I have been married to my 8th-grade sweetheart, Scott, since July 1998. Our three kids are: Nate (19), Lyla (17) and Chloe (12). I love them to bits but they can also drive me bananas. I spend most of my time picking up after them, feeding them, listening to them, trying to snuggle them and they, in turn, spend most of their time avoiding my snuggles, making fun of me, going to school and hanging with their friends. I am sure most moms can relate.
I was raised in Wisconsin and currently live in the same suburb that I grew up in. It is a fantastic community to raise a family. It is the kind of place where neighbors bring you cookies when you move in, friends bring you meals when you are sick and family all stays close because the area has so much to offer. We feel really lucky to live here! (Except for the freezing cold winters of course.) Brrr….
Before starting a family, I graduated from college with a degree in Early and Elementary Education. I worked as a kindergarten teacher which, I loved. Kindergarten kids are the best—don’t even try to tell me they aren’t. I won’t hear of it.
Once my own kids came along, I gave up teaching to be a full-time mom and I have never regretted the decision. I have been back to teaching and other jobs here and there over the last 9 years (part-time); but as of right now I am working from home as a mom, wife, blogger, and a Beautycounter consultant.
Our life has been full of lots of ups and downs, much of which I will share in this blog in the days, months and possibly years to come.
Before we get started, please know a few important things about me:
First, I love Jesus with all my heart. He is my Lord and Savior and I try to grow in my relationship with him on a daily basis. I pray for God to have mercy on me and lead me to follow His ways. Somedays I succeed…some days not so much. I guess we are all a work in progress, right?
Second, I am pretty darn genuine. I am who I am, and I think most people will tell you I don’t pretend to be someone I am not. If I post something on this blog, it is because I care about it, mean it, or like it.
Third, I am not a professional writer. I don’t have a degree in writing. I didn’t even minor in writing. So this blog will be flawed. (See…is it okay to start a sentence with the word “so”? I feel like my 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Reddemann would say “NO!”). I will do my best to make it great, but by no means will it be perfect.
Fourth, I am most happy and most myself in casual circumstances. I am a jeans and sweatshirt kind of girl. This blog will be casual as well. I want it to be like I am having a conversation with my closest friends.
I am excited for what is to come and so happy you have found my blog. I look forward to sharing with you whatever is stirring my heart at the moment and getting to know each and every one of you. Be sure to leave a comment or just say hi. Thanks for stopping by y’all!
XO- Kerry
