Family Marriage

Our Version of the Couple’s Retreat

Sure we communicate about all the hot topics in our life as much as possible, but the opportunity to dive deep isn't as often as it should be. A few years ago, however, we were inspired by someone to change this and that is how our version of the Couple's Retreat came to ... continue reading...

Life and Death: What a Wild Combination

Life, it's a tenuous thing. One day you're a kid playing kick the can with your neighborhood friends, the next you are graduating college and planning a wedding. Ready to Launch

Ready to Launch...this small phrase kept running through my mind the whole time we were in New York City dropping our daughter off for college. She was excited, yet she was calm. She didn't seem scared. She was happy with her decision to move to the Big Apple. Her steadfast demeanor brought me some peace, but at the same time, a big part of my brain was screaming, "How did we get here?", "How did this happen?", "What happened to the little girl who would not leave my side?". She was the one I ... continue reading...

My Top 7 Tips for Reading the Bible

For the majority of my life, I wondered what the Bible was really all about but was too intimidated to actually read it.  Every time I had picked it up in the past, I was overwhelmed, confused, and honestly a little bored. I didn't get it. I also wasn't sure how this book could relate to my life today. But still, there was this little voice in my head, saying, "You must try harder to read it", "You must not quit". Over the past five years, I decided to dive into the Bible and try my best to not ... continue reading...

Let’s Go Rucking!

Have you ever heard of Rucking? I had not until I started to see pictures of a friend of mine on Facebook doing it. At first, I thought "What the heck is this?" and "What is he up to?".  I continued to check out his posts about this activity and wondered if this would be something I could do. I began to look into it and saw that rucking, in its simplest terms, is walking/hiking with a weighted backpack. https://www.goruck.com/ At first, I was intrigued and I thought "Let's go rucking." ... continue reading...
