Deep Talk Grateful Heart

Happy Birthday USA!

Dear USA,

Happy Birthday! It is time to celebrate you! I am incredibly proud to be an American. This 4th of July I am sharing a list of just some of your wonderful achievements throughout your 244-year history. You have been beaten down lately, so I think it is time to remember some of your greater moments and to be grateful for you!

  1. You are a republic. You give voice to your people.
  2. You celebrate the individual and allow your citizens to dream.
  3. You ended slavery when you saw that it was evil.
  4. You gave the vote to all people, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.
  5. You allow your people to peacefully protest and voice their complaints, without fear of retribution.
  6. You saved Europe from Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Tyrannical Japan during World War II.
  7. You give more money to charity than any other nation in the world. According to Giving USA in 2019, your individual citizens gave away $309.66 billion, your foundations gave $75.69 billion, your individual citizens bequeathed $43.21 billion, and your corporations donated $21.09 billion!
  8. You celebrate, remember, and learn from your history through amazing museums, statues, holidays and national landmarks.
  9. You give us freedom of religion.
  10. You give us freedom of speech.
  11. You give us the freedom to protect ourselves from evil.
  12. You give us so many freedoms it is easy for us to take them for granted. https://bestlifeonline.com/freedoms-americans-take-for-granted/
  13. You limit the government so that the government does not take over our individual rights.
  14. You were the first country to put a man on the moon.
  15. You celebrate art and fashion.
  16. You raise heroes who run into burning buildings as they did in New York City during 9/11.
  17. You gave us the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the Civil Rights Act.
  18. You give our citizens the stock market to invest in and the right to own our own businesses.
  19. You celebrate cultures and people from all walks of life, through your restaurants, stores, movies, books, festivals, music, and so much more.
  20. You allow each state to govern itself and have its own uniqueness.
  21. Your citizens invented the telegraph, the automobile, the lightbulb, the internet, the phonograph, the artificial heart, the pacemaker, microwave ovens, dental floss, hearing aids, chemotherapy, and on and on.
  22. You take in immigrants from all over the world.
  23. You offer competition within the business world so no one business can have a monopoly over U.S. citizens.
  24. You cherish your land by protecting it with national and state parks.
  25. Your military not only protects us but also actively protects people all over the world.
  26. You entertain us and the world with incredible movies, music, books, and television.
  27. You give your citizens due process. We are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
  28. You give us great leaders like George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Andrew Carnegie, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Martin Luther King Jr.
  29. You are a moral nation who wants to do what is best for your citizens and people across the globe, always re-evaluating, debating, and changing when needed.
  30. You allow me to love my savior Jesus Christ, to choose where I want to live, to educate my children the way I see fit, to wear what I want to wear, to vote for who I want to vote for, to go where I want to go, to love who I want to love, to listen to who I want to, to believe what I want to believe and to be whomever I want to be.

Thank you, U.S.A.! Thank you for being the country that I cherish, love and respect! Happy Birthday to the most amazing country in the world! I am proud to be your citizen and I honor you this 4th of July.

God Bless America!

XO- Kerry
