Are you a paper planner person? For the last 10 years or so, I really haven’t been. My daily planner consisted of dates/appointments logged onto our Google Calendar and lots of pieces of paper scattered about with to-do lists written on them. I had tried paper planners in the past but never ended up using them regularly. I often found them to be bulky and I felt like they really didn’t offer much besides keeping track of appointments. I figured why bother writing in a planner if I can just keep track of everything on my computer/phone and a few random sheets of paper?
All of that changed for me in June of this year when I decided to give a monthly wellness/daily planner called Silk and Sonder a try. It is a subscription you sign up for and each month you receive a brand new planner in the mail.
I LOVE this planner and I use it every single day. Silk and Sonder describe their planners on their website this way, “Each month’s issue includes a blend of productivity and planning, introspection and mindfulness, and lifestyle content. Over time, we are committed to understanding your unique preferences and motivations to provide you with the most authentic experience as well as the opportunity to start afresh, every month.”
The planners are beautiful in appearance and lightweight— but also sturdy. Every month there is a new theme that the journal helps you focus on.
Some examples of the themes I have had so far are:
Choice, Passion, Affection, Observation, Tranquility, and Happiness.
Silk and Sonder offers pages that are consistent each month but they also have some pages that change, depending on the theme. Each month you can expect to find a weekly planner, a coloring page, new recipes, a year overview, a month overview, an intentions page, a mood tracker, a monthly expense tracker, and my personal favorite—the monthly habit tracker. I LOVE this particular tracker! Each month, I write out the habits I want to work on for the month, and then each morning I mark off how I did the day before. Some of the habits I have worked on are: working out, taking my vitamins, bible study, time outside every day, and a healthy lunch. I know it seems crazy but this daily tracker really works to motivate me! I want to be able to put a checkmark in the box for each habit. When I don’t follow through with something and I have to leave it blank, it truly bothers me.
The weekly planner piece of Silk and Sonder is also great. Included each week are four pages to do things such as meal planning, shopping lists, weekly to-do’s, habits/activity tracker, weather tracking, daily to-do’s, and even a tracker to inspire you to drink more water. Each morning I open my planner and see what is in store for me for the day. I enjoy being able to check off my to-do’s throughout the day as well. It makes me feel more accomplished and reminds me of just how much I do get done in a day and a week.
There are also plenty of empty pages in the planner where you can make bullet lists for any number of topics that are on your mind that month. I have used it for birthday lists, blog planning, big goals, and more.
I could go on and on but you really should just take a look at their website to get a better understanding of what they have to offer. https://www.silkandsonder.com/ They have a few different membership options. You can do a 3-month one, a 6-month one, or a yearly one. The 3-month membership is what I chose when I first started because I was unsure if I would really use it and like it. It is a great way to start.
Silk and Sonder could also be a great gift-giving idea for a friend or family member—especially if you know that person is wanting to get better organized or work on goal setting.
If any of you plan to try it out, please let me know, as I would love to hear how you like it and if you have found any fun and creative ways to use it. You can also join their group on Facebook for inspiration and ideas. Happy planning!!!

I bought a 3 month subscription. I can’t wait to try it. I love the idea of it being a little different each month. Thanks Kerry! Keep you posted on how it goes.
That is great Cheryl!! Be sure to join the Facebook group as well. I have gotten some great ideas from this group on how to use it. I totally love it!
